Conservative Activism in the UK
Grantham and Stamford Conservatives is a non-profit organization headquartered in the United Kingdom whose mission is to promote the ideas of the conservative parties and support them. Through the efforts of ordinary people the conservative agenda is being spread throughout the UK, on both the local levels and on the national level.
One of the issues the Grantham and Stamford Conservative fought for was reduced prices for parking in parking lots, or car parks. They were able to cut short-stay parking fees by as much as 50% in an effort to promote shopping and help retailers.
Another one of the issues which the Grantham and Stamford Conservatives fought for was to secure a large amount of government financing to fix damaged roads covered in potholes and other hazards. Paul Coathup, the assistant director of highways and transport for the Lincolnshire County Council commented, “We don’t yet know what share of this additional funding we’ll receive, but any contribution will be welcomed. We have the third-largest road network in the country, much of which is rural. The worst weather conditions for a century hit many areas hard last year, including Lincolnshire, so as we strive to tackle the considerable effects on the roads, this funding will go some way to supporting our efforts.”
